The fingernails and toenails will often become contaminated by nail fungus infection, which is also called, Onychomycosis. This nail fungus infection is made up of small organisms. Our fingernails and toenails are extremely efficient as it pertains to keeping out harmful particles. The protective barriers that protect our finger and toe nails can often be invaded by nail fungus infection.

More than 35 million Americans get nail fungus; according to the Department of Health and Human Services. Since fungus requires a moist, dark place to grow, it usually finds a home beneath the nail. It’s sometimes why it’s so difficult to treat nail fungus infections.

Nail Fungus Infections oftentimes find its home in toenails as a result of the warm, dark, moist environment of socks and shoes. The fingernails are six to seven times less likely than the toenails to end up being invaded by nail fungus.

Signs of nail infection can often be the irritation and redness around the sides of the nail. The earliest aspects of the nail to get infected are usually the base and around the sides. The nail bed together with the nail commence to show signs of infection as the fungus spreads. Our skin all around the nails usually becomes itchy, uncomfortable or painful.

The cuticles may begin to disconnect or bleed. The nail can suffer various color changes, like dark yellow-brown, yellow-green, and may even get some white spots. The nail passes through several changes when afflicted with fungus, including, abnormal lines, holes and creases.

Catching it before it starts is the greatest treatment. Clip your nails straight across. Soften your nails if they’re too hard to cut by letting them sit inside a gallon of salt water (use one tsp per gal). Maintain the dryness of your feet and keep them ventilated. Be careful when adding artificial nails, and be wise and thoughtful when picking a manicurist. Determine whether they sanitize their utensils as well as how.

Definitely keep your shoes on and do not share shoes because nail infection can spread from person to person, especially from bare feet and damp or moist air. This tends to occur in many different places, including, bathrooms, shower rooms and locker facilities. Fungus can sometimes be lurking on nail files too. It’s possible steer clear of nail fungus when you use caution. Wear protective shoes if you use communal showers, and don’t use other people’s nail files.

Nails can be shielded from necessary light by dark colored nail polish, and also experience unusual moistness from plastic or veneer nails. Lighter polishes helps light pass through into the nails quicker. Also, steer clear of artificial nails.

Treatments such as topical creams are generally used for less severe infections. Most pharmacies carry topical treatments in the foot care section. The creams you’ll most likely find will include Nizoral, Lamisil, Lotrimin, Tinactin and Monistat. If topical treatments don’t produce any results, your doctor may deem an oral treatment more appropriate.

Nails can disclose a substantial magnitude of info on what’s occurring throughout the body. The sign of a body in great condition, is healthy nails. The sign of a body in bad condition, is poor, weak nails. An eating plan high in protein can help the nails growth and strengthen.

Call a nearby doctor or podiatrist if you start recognizing signs of fungal nail infection. If you happen to begin taking oral medicines to help remedy fungus, you’ll want to mention to your doctor if you happen to begin experiencing unwanted effects, especially if you take other kinds of medication like birth control.

This article is not intended to be a medical advise and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice. The infection can be of the nail itself or for the underlying skin in the area known as the nail bed. This can be achieved by always drying the hands thoroughly or the feet after bathing or swimming. A yeast infection can occur in several forms, the most common being of the vagina, but it is not limited to that area or that gender. Other places that are moist and warm can be a place for a yeast infection to occur, the mouth, under breasts, in folds of skin and yes the penis. Men can also get a yeast infection though it is less common. Three quarters of people by the end of the life will have had to have dealt with a yeast infection at least once in their lives!

The key point about yeast infections is that they are not something you pick up from somewhere or someone. They are caused by a fungus that already lives on you in small numbers. When a trigger leads to imbalance and the fungus, called Candida, can overgrow, a yeast infection happens. There are several species of candida that can cause yeast infections but the main one is candida albicans. The symptoms that are caused can vary, how severe the infection is can vary, even how it responds to treatment varies from person to person.

Causes too can change and range from soaps and products you use on your skin, antibiotics or steroids you may be taking, a diet to high in sugar, wearing clothing that makes you too sweaty, even living in a humid climate.

Symptoms of a yeast infection include burning, soreness, itching, pain during sex, unusual vaginal discharge that resembles cottage cheese that is often odorless but can have a yeasty smell. Even though a yeast infection is not classed as an STD on rare occasions it can be passed on during sex to your partner, so either abstain until successfully treated or use a condom.

If you are certain your symptoms are from a yeast infection not something else you need to get treated as soon as possible. Natural cures are popular amongst many sufferers as they are effective and free from side effects that come with drugs. Also some people have found their fungus seems to be resistant to medicated efforts at treatment. To prevent it recurring try a natural remedy whist dealing with the root cause.

A skin yeast infection can be treated with over the counter products, by an anti-fungal drug prescribed by a doctor or by natural means. The symptoms, which include, redness, itching, rash, scaling, flaking and soreness, could also be attributed to other conditions and you need to be sure of what you have before a treatment can be effective.

It is rare for more serious symptoms to occur with a skin yeast infection, but if vomiting, fever or discharge are also present you should see a doctor straight away. It is possible these signs are something else more serious like appendicitis or kidney problems.

There is nowhere on the skin that can’t be infected by a skin yeast infection – even in the mouth sometimes called Thrush, in skin folds, under a breast, and so on. It is more likely in areas mentioned just because it is moist and warm there, which the fungus likes. When you visit your doctor they can talk about treatment options with you. They may take a scarping or send for further tests or if you already have a compromised immune system they may start you on a course of treatment straight away.

A yeast infection may also be called Candidiasis and for many women who suffer with vaginal yeast infection bumps it can be uncomfortable and embarrassing. Symptoms vary from person to person but can include redness, pain when having sex and when urinating, a white thick discharge, a beer odor, itching, swelling and yeast infection bumps. For patients in hospital with compromised immune systems a yeast infection of it becomes systemic can even be fatal. Though particularly common in women, it can affect men also, and can occur anywhere on the body, under arms, on the skin, in the mouth, the penis as well as the vagina. There are some things you can do at home to help clear up those yeast infection bumps.

Clean the area regularly and thoroughly to create an environment the fungus is less likely to enjoy breeding in. However make sure to use gentle and mild soaps as harsh chemicals can cause irritation and make the infection worse. After bathing make sure you also dry the area properly before getting dressed again. Remember fungi like warm and damp areas so you want to keep the area as dry as possible.

When you have used the toilet make sure you wipe front to back as it prevents bacteria and fungus being transferred from the anus to the vagina. There are several infections that can be caused by wiping from the back to the front.

If you use lubrication during sex make sure it is a water soluble lubricating gel not oil based. These can cause irritation and make the yeast infection bumps worse. If you are suffering discomfort during sex because of dryness either stop having sex or use lubrication to avoid damage being caused to the vagina, which can also cause a yeast infection.

If you are a woman and use the birth control pill this may be a trigger of your yeast infection as it affects your hormonal balance. Some contraceptive devices that are inserted can also encourage the yeast to grow so consider switching to condoms or abstain from sex altogether until the yeast infection bumps have gone.

Do I Really Have To Take Chemical Medicines For My Yeast Infections?

I know that I have had my share of yeast infections and I was absolutely sick of it. I was tired of my doctor prescribing me a medication or recommending an expensive cream that I know will only take away the symptoms for a short time. I needed permanent relief! So I decided that it was time to switch doctors and find a less expensive treatment. I was blown away when my new doctor told me that I should try all natural treatments.

I had a few criteria for considering any natural treatment options for my yeast infections. I wanted to make sure that they were safe and had been proven to work as well as not being expensive. I had to make sure too that I wouldn’t have to travel that far to get a hold of anything that I may need for the treatment. But my main concern was that no matter what I needed not just quick relief but permanent relief.

The first cure that I wanted to talk to you about was yogurt. Yes, the stuff that you eat! Before we get into the how’s of using it I want to mention that you should always look for yogurt that is 100% organic and sugar free. This is because yeast will actually thrive off of sugar and anything that has sugar in it will cause your infection to worsen.

To use yogurt as a cure you could do one of three things. You could eat some everyday as a preventative measure and to restore the pH levels in your body. You could take a clean tampon and dip it into the yogurt prior to inserting it into the vagina, just leave it in for an hour or so they take it out. Or you could even just apply some to the vulva this will soothe the burning feeling.

Lastly apple cider vinegar is great to use! I like to take a very hot bath and add two cups of the vinegar to it. Or if you don’t have time for a bath you could mix equal part water and vinegar and scrub the area with a wash cloth.

Well ladies, it looks like there is one more thing that we need to watch out for in our diets. Not only should we be concerned about fat content and portion sizes but for those of us that suffer from yeast infections, both minor and severe, we now need to pay attention to the type of foods we eat. Certain food choices can actually feed the yeast that you are trying so hard to fight. But, don’t worry. We are going to look at short list of foods that you should really consider avoiding whether you have an active infection or you have reoccurring infections.

Our short list of foods to avoid. Sugar- We can find all different types of sugars in many of the foods we eat. I wish it were as easy as saying don’t put sugar in your tea, but it isn’t. The only way that you can really tell how much sugar you are consuming is to read the labels on your foods. Also did you know that fruit is full of sugar! Even natural sugars need to be avoided.

Carbohydrates- just like raw or refined sugar carbohydrates are eventually turned into sugar by the body. Sorry ladies but this means that foods that contain white four, starch of any kind and potatoes are off limits. Bacteria love to feed off of different kinds of bacteria and yeast as well. With this being said there is a tremendous amount of bacteria and yeast in things like mushrooms or even alcohol.

Be sure that you remember to not eat anything that has white flour in it; bakery products that are sweetened and even white flour tortilla chips. Sometimes sugars are hard to spot in these foods since they can be called other things like corn syrup or masked as artificial sweeteners. Don’t be fooled, these are still sugars; they are just in a different form.

As always go to see a doctor if you haven’t yet been to one for a yeast infection. Your doctor will many helpful tip and tricks for how to treat your infections whether it is with antibiotics or even all natural home remedies. I hope that this was helpful for you!

Trying To Treat Your Reoccurring Yeast Infections?

Let’s be honest; I know that you are just as tired of trying to treat your reoccurring yeast infections as I am. Well, the good news is that I have been doing some research and I have found more than a few ways to not only control the symptoms but also to cure the root cause. The first thing that we should talk about is what exactly a yeast infection is and what you can do to help prevent them. Yeast is something that occurs naturally inside the vagina and the body can typically keep it in check. However certain things can happen that will encourage yeast overgrowth. This is what turns into an infection. Any time that you go swimming make sure that you are changing out of your wet clothes immediately; you should try to stick to wearing breathable materials and loose clothes too. Even just these things can help to reduce your infections.

Any time that you have an active yeast infection you will need to stay away from heavily processes foods, breads and temporarily from fruits too. This is because these foods in particular are filled with sugars and sugar will feed yeast and cause further growth.

Yogurt is a great for not only treating the infection but also soothing the symptoms associated with the infection. Externally you could apply a small amount to the skin that is irritated. Internally, it is helpful to dip a tampon in yogurt and insert it into the vagina for a short time. You should always be sure that the yogurt that you are using is sugar free and if possible organic as well.

Chickweed ointment is an all natural cure that can be found in your local health food store. This is a product that should only be used externally but it is highly effective.

Remember that natural cures are great for most illnesses, however if you have never actually been to your doctor for diagnosis then you should see your physician before you begin any home treatment option. This is important as many illnesses can present with the same symptoms but left untreated they can have lasting effects on your health.

Have you noticed how much time and money you have been spending lately trying to find just the right treatment option for your yeast infection? You want something that will cure the root cause of the infection not just treat your irritating symptoms. It has been said that as many as 70% of women all around the world have had at least one yeast infection and possibly experience instances of reoccurring yeast infections. Believe me when I tell you that I have heard it all when it comes to the cost of purchasing creams and ointments that aren’t even guaranteed to work anyway. In many instances women have be returning to a more holistic approach to treatment options as a way to save both time and money. Here is a list of five all natural cures that will work for you.

The first thing we need to do is slow down and relax. Stress management is absolutely key in curing your infections as things like stress from work, home and even your friends can actually encourage yeast growth.

Aloe has a few different uses and both are easy to use. You could either drink its juice or you could just rub a bit if its gel on the area that is hurting you.

Yogurt is another very easy to use cure. Just like the aloe you could put some on the skin that is irritated, eat it or even apply some to a tampon and use it that way. But keep in mind one of my favorite quotes “Sugar free is the way to be!” if you were to use any kind of flavored or sugared yogurt you could accidentally make you infection much worse. So be careful when you buy it.

A commonly used preservative found in beer or wine making stores is called potassium sorbet.

Potassium Sorbet is a preservative that can be found in food manufacturing stores. This can mixed with water and put on a tampon that can be worn overnight.

6 All Natural Cures For Your Uncomfortable Yeast Infections.

Yeast infections are a common health concern for women all over the world. The only reason that women suffer from these is that they don’t understand what a yeast infection is or how they can treat it at home. Here is a list of my six favorite ways to treat these infections that are quick and inexpensive:

Any kind of non-breathable or, overly tight clothing needs to be avoided any time that you have an infection but really it should be avoided all of the time as this can encourage yeast growth.

Avoid foods that contain refined sugar. Candy, adding it to your coffee and even the occasional piece if chocolate is too much when you are experiencing an active infection.

Avoid mushrooms since they are fungus as well. Any time you have any type of infection you will need to avoid anything that either contains more bacteria or fungus as your body can’t fight all of the spores at once.

Try an all natural probiotic yogurt that is unsweetened and all natural. There’s two ways that this can be used. You can either eat larger amounts than you usually would or you could simply put some on the end of a tampon and insert it into the vagina. This will provide almost instant cooling relief not to mention the fact that the yogurt will help to restore the natural balance of yeast in the vagina.

Garlic- we love garlic because it has almost the same uses as yogurt. You can eat a lot more than you normally would or you have the option of crushing the garlic into a paste and rubbing it into the area that is causing the most trouble.

Lastly there is water. Yes, just plain old water. Many times people don’t realize that they are not flushing out all of the toxins that build up in their bodies during the day. The best way to do that is by drinking 8 glasses of water (8 oz each) everyday. Prior to beginning any treatment plan, be sure that you seek medical advice.
